Full List of Food at 2023 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party & Fall at Magic Kingdom

Halloween brings new menu items to Magic Kingdom this fall, with 2023 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party exclusive snacks, entrees & desserts, plus all-day dishes and drinks available August 11 through November 1, 2023. In this food guide, we’ll take a sneak peek at the spook season treats.

Walt Disney World’s culinary teams have conjured up some frightfully fun delights for you to indulge in during your day trip to Magic Kingdom with more special treats during the 2023 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. During that event, the highlight for many guests is obviously trick or treating, with candy like M&M’s, Snickers, and more.

In addition to that, several restaurants and snack spots will be open and offering even more Halloween-themed items that are available for purchase. If our experiences in the past–and the stock photos and descriptions Disney has shared–are any indication, some of these are treats, whereas some are tricks…

Before we delve into the menus, one returning upcharge within the upcharge event is Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace. This features a variety of Halloween-themed sweet treats and specialty drinks, as well as “exclusive” viewing of the fireworks at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!

However, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace once again does not offer reserved for the Boo to You Parade–the lack of this is a big deal. For most Halloween Parties, reserved viewing for Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular is totally unnecessary. It is nice for the Boo to You Parade, though. Plus, the reserved viewing area is not a good spot for viewing the fireworks (for the best spots, check out our Magic Kingdom Fireworks Viewing Locations Guide).

In our view, the fireworks dessert party is a waste of money and time during the 2023 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. We aren’t particularly keen on it during normal nights, but if you’re dead-set on doing the fireworks dessert party in Magic Kingdom, save it for a normal night when Happily Ever After is being performed and crowds for that are worse. It’s literally counterproductive during MNSSHP. (Don’t say we didn’t warn you!)

Ultimately, a healthy number of undoubtedly unhealthy additions and interesting sounding dishes that I’m looking forward to trying. The items that have me most excited are all savory counter service entrees–the sandwiches at Pecos Bill and Cosmic Rays, plus chicken wings–at least one of which will end up being a culinary monstrosity (per usual).

My biggest disappointment is that there isn’t more being offered during regular park hours at Magic Kingdom. I can understand wanting a few party-exclusive snacks, especially photogenic desserts. Those are always a draw at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, and do a little to help with event capacity.

But the savory entrees? There’s no way literally anyone has been waiting to buy tickets to the 2023 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party until seeing what Pecos Bill and Cosmic Ray’s are serving. Upon arrival, there’s likewise no one whose night will be made by the presence of these entrees.

Meanwhile, the menus at both of these colossal counter service restaurants have been bland and boring since the 50th Anniversary ended and the interesting items from that disappeared; having Halloween sandwiches and wings as all-day options would be a much-needed shot in the arm for both quick-service venues.

Beyond that, I’ve always felt it was odd to have so many interesting seasonal entrees at the Halloween or Christmas parties–the average attendee will try maybe one of them, whereas adding these to regular menus gives locals and Annual Passholders an excuse to make repeat visits to Magic Kingdom to try them all. (And Walt Disney World will need all the excuses they can get to boost attendance in August and September!)

There are a couple other disappointments. First, no cupcake at Main Street Bakery. This was underwhelming last year, so no big year-over-year loss there…but the oversized options in 2019 and earlier were always awesome. Then thee’s the lack of a pumpkin waffle sundae at Sleepy Hollow for the second straight year. This was a real fan favorite option during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, but I’m guessing it’s gone because of the long lines and chaos it caused in the kitchen.

Ending on a positive note, this looks like the best lineup for savory snacks and entrees in years at the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. It’ll be impossible to eat them all, but at least there are plenty of choices. Then there’s the Apple Fritter Sundae at Plaza, which sounds like it could be a winner. Ditto the Cinnamon Funnel Cake at Sleepy Hollow, which is covered in pumpkin toppings. If those two desserts are executed well, Walt Disney World fans might forget about the pumpkin waffle sundae!
